03/20/2009 | T-Mobile, Photobucket Launch Photo Sharing Apps |
T-Mobile USA has launched two separate mobile photo sharing services with Photobucket, a standalone photo and video sharing Web site. The more complex application was built in conjunction with Microsoft subsidiary Danger and is only available on the T-Mobile Sidekick. It allows users to upload photos and videos from their handset directly to Photobucket, where they can add and edit titles, descriptions and tags, and rotate and resize images. Users can also create a Photobucket account, log in to the site to access their album, browse and search the site and share images. The Photobucket account is free but the application costs $1.99 a month. The stripped-down version is initially available on five handsets: the BlackBerry Curve, the BlackBerry Pearl and three Windows Mobile devices. The Photobucket Mobile Uploader allows users to send photos directly from a handset to a Photobucket album, a PC hard drive or an e-mail address. Last fall, Verizon Wireless said it was the first U.S. carrier to offer the Photobucket Mobile Uploader |
