09/29/2009 | Sprint Puts Its Own Spin on 'Breakup Songs' |
Sprint is taking the churn game to new levels, encouraging consumers to listen to "breakup songs" aimed at the calling circles of T-Mobile USA, AT&T and Verizon Wireless. The marketing campaign started on Sunday and touts Sprint's Any Mobile, Anytime feature of the Sprint Everything Data plans that offer customers unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling from the Sprint network to any U.S. wireless phone regardless of network. Sprint launched the calling plan back on Sept. 10. Sprint is encouraging consumers to visit www.mobilegoodbye.com, choose a tune and watch as a "hip crooner" bursts into song. Sprint says the "playful songs" creatively intone that people no longer need to be "suffocated" by small calling circles. Sprint even offers a "Fast path to switch" link. "Sprint is reaching out to new audiences and changing the conversation of traditional wireless advertising by launching these dynamic viral spots," explains Mike Goff, vice president of national advertising at Sprint, in a press release. "... This is a fun, viral way to spread the word that Sprint's Any Mobile, Anytime is the best deal out there." The ads were developed for Sprint by Goodby, Silverstein and Partners. |
