09/02/2009 | Cumberland's free Wi-Fi to end this year |
People in Cumberland will soon have to pay for a wireless Internet service that has been available for free in the western Maryland city for nearly three years. City Administrator Jeff Repp told the Cumberland Times-News that a rate structure will likely be established this month, requiring users to pay by the day, week, month or year. The system was developed and installed by locally based CONXX (kuh-NEX') Inc. as a model that the company used for marketing its services. Repp says the city must choose a future provider for the service before settling on a rate structure. ___ Information from: Cumberland (Md.) Times-News, http://www.times-news.com/timesnew.html |
