07/21/2009 | Clearwire Launches 4G in Vegas Tomorrow |
Clearwire Communications will officially launch its 4G WiMAX mobile Internet service in Las Vegas tomorrow. The company said members of the media and industry analysts can preview the service today and early tomorrow. Clearwire boasts the new mobile Internet service will work "as fast on the go as it does at home." Interested customers can sign up for the service online. Sprint launched the service under its Xohm brand in Baltimore last fall. Clearwire, which represents a merger between Sprint’s Xohm service and its own Clear brand, launched its mobile WiMAX service in Portland, Ore., in January. Sprint and Clearwire have both announced plans to roll out 4G service in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Honolulu, Philadelphia and Seattle in 2009. |
